The late Robert Urich fares a little better with his deliveries and Howell is wasted in a periphery character appearence. Utter tosh really but Archer's character is almost unplayable as her lines and situations are atrocious. She realises that they are not much different from herself. Archer's character hates wolves because of what happened to her dead husband years earlier but when she gets thrown from her horse and lays with a broken ankle for 5 days with nobody for company but a snared wolf - she begins to respect the animal. The story is basically an interwine of bad-ass poachers killing game-wardens and animals in the hills and one woman's relationship with a trapped wolf. Thomas Howell gave me a brief inkling that this movie might rise above the usual TV dirge and actually display some sort of ingenuity when it came to creating a piece of art. The presence of Anne Archer, Robert Urich and C. Alas - my fears were correct - this was very poor fare indeed. This came on the Hallmark channel the other night (not a good sign to begin with) but as there was nothing else on I decided to give it a go.
